Why Should Indians Study "ENGLISH"

When India became free, there was a demand from several quarters that English should be banned from our land. It was the language of our rulers and was, therefore a painful reminder of our slavery . However with the passage of time we have grown less tolerant . Experience has taught us that English is much important than our language .It is know as the second language of our administration.
We are living in a world, which is so closely interlinked . No one lives as a frog in the well. If anything happens in one corner of the world, however remote it is, bounds to have its effects on all countries.The general election in India,the conflicts between Isrel and Palestine, the invasion on Iraq-each of these events has its repercussions far and wide . Its echoes are heard in the remote corners of the globe. And the best medium of this contact is English . It is the language which is read and spoken by about one third of the inhabitants of the globe . It is there fore the greatest window for us to look at the world outside.
Luckily, this language is no strange to us , our contact with it is now two hundred years old . We shall have , therefore not much difficulty in winning its appeal. Whereas the countries like Japan, China are important teachers from other countries for teaching of ENGLISH ,we have a large no of them to fulfil our requirements . Thousands of Indians youths get their job opportunities since they are English literature .
English is a language , which embraces within its happy fold all the priceless treasures of science and technology, art and literature. The translation from ENGLISH have enriched our language and it will be the height of ingratitude to excite this mother, So it will be wise and prudent for Indians to study this priceless language.
